I have developed an ongoing relationship with Hamel Building Center and found them great to work with. However, the reason for this repeat business is the ongoing replacement of my ROTTING Marvin Windows. My house was built in 2003, and Marvin has been aware for many years of the defect in design and assembly which is causing this rotting. It is a long slow process, so Marvin has been doing its best to hide behind the 10 year warranty in responding to the many thousands of customers who bought these defective windows.nnI have been fortunate to find a few Marvin employees who have done all they can to help, but it is truly the tip of the iceberg. The cost and aggravation of this sporadic but continuous rotting of sashes appears to be never ending. I replaced a sash in January, and recently discovered two more rotted ( I opened the window and the bottom ledge was disintegrating) sashes which cost over $700 each plus the labor to paint and install.nnI understand that things can go wrong in the design and production of anything. But, Marvin is a large company which advertises itself to be an industry leader in high quality products. They have an ethical obligation to take responsibility for rotting they knew was coming long before 10 years, but simply chose to hope the rotting would progress slow enough to give them a legal defense for their defective workmanship.nnSo, if you consider Marvin, do so with the other low end window companies which may or may not cause you regrets. But, if you are going to spend top dollar, please choose a company like Anderson Windows where the executives may actually walk the talk.

Great Family Run hardware and lumber store. The staff was very helpful and the prices were good.

About as much help as a kick in the nuts, had no interest in helping us.
