Such a cute spot to walk along the beach and check out the view! A cool geological outcrop can be seen by the lighthouse!
I’ve been on many lighthouse tours and this was my favorite! Susan, the guide, was very knowledgeable and super enthusiastic. She had plenty of stories and historical tidbits. Even my kids (10 and 7) were very entertained, they liked the ghost story part of the tour the best :). Coincidentally there was even a former Coast Guard guy on the tour who had stayed at the lighthouse back in the day. Overall a totally great experience!! The lighthouse is beautiful, Superior is beautiful, and the town is beautiful. One of the true highlights of our UP vacation. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Susan is an AWESOME volunteer guide. Super knowledgeable and fun to be around. She has so much interesting knowledge of the lighthouse and Marquette. Her personality makes it easy to listen and want to learn more.nnThe lighthouse isn't as accessible as I had hoped, and is limited to the basement, first floor and outside. Paranormal activity is proven prevalent here and the place is packed with emotions and history. Definitely worth the price. The tour lasted about an hour.nnSusan said the future of the lighthouse is as exciting as the past. Future plans may include staging the lighthouse as it was lived in over a hundred years ago.nnAfter the tour, take a walk into the eastern breakwaters and see the house from the far light.
Fantastic place to stay. Clean room, great breakfasts and wonderful friendly helpful owner/host. The grounds and views are wonderful. If you have to have TV this not for you.
Our family (including three young kids) loved touring the lighthouse with our guide, Greg! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Marquette and the lighthouse. He shared many childhood stories about growing up here and how things have changed through the years. Greg made this tour for us! Thanks for being FUN, Greg!
