Police aren't corrupt here or anything like others are saying here. I've only seen the officers regularly on Trax near downtown. Very rarely are they on Frontrunner or anywhere in Utah County.

After spending over an hour trying to get a real person at Amtrak a very nice lady at Provo City customer service told me I should talk to the UTA Transit Police for questions about parking at the Amtrak station in Provo. We live in southern Utah and will be gone several days on the Zephyr and don't know anyone in Provo. Leah, who quickly answered the phone at the Transit Police number answered all my questions. She was also courteous and kind!

I am a University of Utah student. I am in a coding bootcamp. My understanding is that as a student I don't need to pay a fair. I did not have my id. I did not know the I'd had to be present. I understand that this was an error on my part. However, the cop treated me like I was a convicted criminal. He tried to take my picture without asking for his index of other "offenders". I told him that I did not consent. Appetently now I am told I will be going to jail. And that he will be getting a picture of me either way. These guys abuse their authority

I love always paying for my passage on the light rail and know for a fact that half the passengers haven't paid for their passage and the UTA POLICE are never around to check for tickets. But I sure see them drive all around.

Better not walk anywhere near here or else you'll get charged with loitering as the police hold your I.D. hostage. Wish I could give this 0 stars.
