My favorite section of the zoo! The lions are my favorite but they tend to hide most of the day, unfortunately. Last time I went, the snow leopard was perched perfectly for a photo op. They have lions, tigers, leopards, pumas, and many more.

This is a really nice zoo. I enjoyed it a lot. The weather was chilly and a lot of construction was going on but we got to see a tiger, Jaguar, cheetah and mountain lion. Really cool stuff.

Big Cat Country is located in the south eastern part of the St. Louis Zoo in the Red Rocks area. Back when the exhibit was constructed in 1975 it was state of the art and won awards but it may seem a little dated when compared to the cheetah enclosure in The River's Edge. It's still pretty wild how close you can get to the snow leopard, serval, and puma in Big Cat Country. You'll have to bring a camera with manual focus in order to make it appear as if there isn't a big wiry cage blocking your shot and a zoom lens to get the jaguar, lions, and tiger since they are much farther away.

Tigers and Lions and Jaguars are all visible from the over looks. A must stop when visiting the St Louis Zoo
