A sprawling park in the heart of the city, this is a great place to spend a sunny day. Whether you're here for the zoo, paddle boats or the many walking paths, you're bound to have a great time here. I really appreciated the paved paths which make getting around in all weather types much easier. There's lots of parallel parking around, but unfortunately not many traditional parking lots.

Best park to ride a bike. Beautiful all over the place.

I’ve been to many parks, and many forest parks in particular, but I’ve never been to one as beautiful, as homey, or as free as this one. Home to the art and history museums, zoo, science center, Muny outdoor theatre, boathouse, two golf courses, recreational fields and courts, a skating rink, a stocked lake and other countless beautiful bodies of water, exquisite historical bridges and buildings, upscale restaurants, a gorgeous forest trail, and surrounded by some of the most historically interesting and wealthy neighborhoods, this is truly the epicenter of the city. One of our final solid ties to our renowned past, the park remains our most beloved landmark, even before the Arch.

You have to visit to understand how BEAUTIFUL this place is! I haven't seen a photo or description do it justice. You could easily spend a day wandering around through the trails, admiring the art sculptures or visiting one of the free attractions, like the zoo, on the grounds. This place is a MUST SEE!

Best place in the USA to spend a couple of days! Free to get in, parking is available in the lot (check prices) or free on the streets. Buy the armband to ride the train and much more. 100% worth every minute! ** note: reservations required now but you may even be able to do same day online.
