Huntington Police Department

Everyone has different experiences with law enforcement but please remember what they deal with on a regular basis. Huntington has some of the best men and women I have ever found on a police force.

My daughter was in a fender bender yesterday. She didn’t really know what to do she called me. I told her to get a report. Officer responded and basically told her it wasn’t necessary to take a report. He had the audacity have her to call me and he got on the phone and said yea this was not like an accident just a little bump. I had already talked to my daughter who said she was shoved into the steering wheel and bounced off the seat a couple of times. So it was a big bump. Anyways, he said you can see where she was bumped but it wipes off. The girl is willing to pay to have the bumper painted do I need to do a full report. YES. How many people lie.. what if the damage is more than you say and they decide to say it didn’t happen or didn’t happen like she said. My daughter hasn’t fully recovered from injuries from a wreck last year... the what if continues. There should always be a report for insurance purposes. Another officer got there and was complaining that “her mother wanted a report” it wasn’t just a couple little scratches. There was a gap between the bumper and trunk. The trunk is uneven and there is a small gap under a tail light. The car isn’t driving right. Oh when I called to complain I was told police aren’t required to file a report it’s a courtesy. Like really her attorney disagreed. Seriously thinking of filing a report of the department!

My Daughter had a car accident in Huntington West Virginia a cop showed up badge 453 I can't read his hand writing our I would have his name own here but he was very rude very unprofessional he used the f word once so I told him there was no need in talking to my Daughter with his attitude and no need for his language and he said he would take me to jail if I said anything else there where 4 firefighters there that heard all of this.nHuntington WEST VIRGINIA surely you can find better officers to protect the public than 453

Never a dull moment in Huntington, and EVERY SINGLE TIME that I need you ladies and gents when it gets out of control, you're always there FAST(most of the time, anyway) and most of the time with a 100% professional attitude (just like everyone else, I understand you all have bad days too). So I just wanted to say thanks.

My car was broken into, they were 100% supportive of me reporting it, and they actually seemed to care. Usually with things like this cops don’t really give you the time of day, but they did and I feel a little safer now in Huntington because of them.
