Thornton Elementary School

Since they erased my review off their Facebook page I’ll post it on here.....nIt’s sad that as a mom to have my first child go to school where I attended not have the experience I thought she would have when I was a childnAs a mom I always looked forward to see what my child would learn on her first year of school and see all the crafts they would do but that wasn’t the case. I felt like us moms were being discriminated against since they didn’t do crafts at all for Mother’s Day but I would constantly receive text messages for fathers to meet at school with their kids and do stuff but did not do anything that includes mother’s....nIt may not be a big deal for some parents but for me it was.nAnd as a parent I looked forward to seeing my child feel accomplished and proud of finishing their first year of school and have a ceremony and see our child receive that certificate that they go on to the next grade level even if it’s only pre-K but they didn’t do anything for the parents not even the kids. I called the office because I received a text about a ceremony they were having for the kids and she had me on hold for a good couple minutes and she told me that they weren’t gonna do anything just give the child a certificate to take home and that’s it...nmy expectations were not met and I wasn’t very happy because this school is nothing like how it use to be. I loved her teachers, they were really nice but it’s sad that not even a small ceremony for the kids or parents to finish off the school year and let them know that with all their hard work they get to go to the next grade level.

I went to school here from Pre-K to 6th grade and I graduated in 2012, I loved this school sometimes I wish to go back in time.
