August 23rd, I took a train from Dallas TX to Texarkana AR at 405 pm a train ride that was supposed to reach Texarkana at 853 pm and I have not arrived yet. It is 1031 and we are just sitting on a track somewhere and I was told that we are awaiting freight cars to pass somewhere. This does not make good sense. If the train will not be close to scheduled time passengers need to know UP FRONT. Do not travel Amtrak if you are not planning to be anywhere soon.nI am totally upset. I need an apologize and a refundn1037 pm and no moment.

Currently sitting here waiting on a train that was due all most a hour ago, do I get a partial refund for the time I have missed with my daughter because the train is late? I paid full price for my ticket so I damn sure expect full service

The Texarkana Train Station is an abandoned station. There is a area for Amtrak passengers to use, not the large building. I didn't take the train, but the area there where the train stops is cool. The station itself has a rich history, a beginning and an end. You see it now past its end. It's so nicely made and laid out. It must have been a pleasure for people to have come here and waited for a train. Just the way you lead up to the station, it looks so grand. There is a 10-12 story hotel, with grand entrance across from the station, also abandoned. I consider the Texarkana station and the hotel across the street to be examples of American ruins, in addition to being historical. All clean, few people around. Streets near the station had nice portable toilets complete with running water hand washing stations. I am not trying to sound sad about the station. It is so well-worn by time and the elements, like, respectfully run down by time. Very unique place, and was certainly more active during a different time in America. If you are there, you walk around the block and you will take a walk through the twilight zone :) with the way the buildings look.
