Step back in time and enjoy several hours touring the historical property of Andrew Jackson. We stopped by on a whim but actually enjoyed this more then anything else on our trip to Nashville. The property is in fantastic condition and the tours of the mansion offer very informative guidance as to the day to day life of the former president and his family. After the tour you are free to roam the property and visit other historical sites including the family cemetery. They offer a nice wine tasting when you exit and a nice shop for souvenirs. Highly recommend stopping by!!

This was a stop my wife accidentally stumbled on while we traveled towards Memphis. Seeing Mount Vernon was awe inspiring and this place had the same effect. Keep our historical sites preserved to show the good and not so good of our great country. This place did a great job, they have 1180 of the original 1200 acres of his estate. Well done.

Enjoyed the visit and getting a history lesson. Fewer people made it easier to view things but not all the tours were offered. A fair amount of walking, so be prepared if you want to see the grounds. It was pretty warm when we visited, so that cut us short. Cafe was okay. Great guitar player/singer! Nice way to end the visit.

It was nice visiting. Very lovely grounds and I appreciated that they took care in presenting Jackson in a light that gave sight to both him as a president, a husband, and a slave holder. I enjoyed the grounds tour, that allowed us to take in the outside beauty. I also liked the audio tour that was easily accessible by cell phone. The garden is probably much more beautiful in the spring. The slave quarters were presented well in my opinion, but I felt like they gave little to the horrible conditions they must have faced. I enjoyed being able to go inside the original Hermitage on my own and feel like I was stepping through time. While he remains the most hated president (in my opinion), getting insight into his life at his home was eye opening. Definitely worth a half day trip. Just do your research. There are definitely some things that are sugar-coated here.

I think it depends which tour guide you get. The guys have really cool outfits. Overall, the house itself is pretty small and you can't go into the rooms but you can see into them from the hallways. It's expensive for what it is. If you love US History then you might love this. The locals have mixed feelings about it due to the ownership of the slaves etc....
