Reviews
I’ve been a member for a couple years now and lately I’ve seen a lot of reviews remarking that the gift shop is only open to people who purchased tickets for the mansion. Well yes, the gift shop in the mansion is only open to those people who have tickets to view the mansion, there are other gift shops on the campus. No one seems to remember/remark about those. Just ask customer service/member services and they will be more than happy to point out all of the available places to purchase souvenirs, books and other Gift shop items.nnAbout the rest of the garden, very well taken care of and the flowers are often changed out seasonally. There’s usually some sort of long-term art exhibit in the mansion if not more than one. Some of the recent improvements were not to my taste but I can see why they were done. It’s worth purchasing a membership as, for the price of a ticket and the amount of time it takes to go through the gardens which for me is under two hours, it’s much more fiscally responsible to purchase a membership and be able to come multiple times for shorter periods of time rather than feel like I have to eat every penny out of my ticket and end up disappointed, aggravated, or annoyed.nnI like to enjoy the Japanese garden in peace so if there are too many people who don’t respect others and their surroundings sometimes the volume of conversations and shouting at each other gets to be obnoxious. So I can just leave and come back at another time when it’s less busy. Having a membership also allows you to come visit in all of the seasons and all of the weather. A lot of the trees and grounds are actually, in my opinion, more gorgeous after a rain when the greens are so bright the moss is hydrated and the mushrooms are popping out of the ground. It also tends to have the benefit of being much less busy and you get to enjoy a much more peaceful experience.
Stunningly gorgeous place that showcases the natural beauty of Middle Tennessee. My wife and I have season passes, and enjoy going here frequently. Very relaxing atmosphere, and one of the things in Nashville you can do over and over and not get tired of. The Christmas light displays are exceptionally good.
Such a wonderful spot! We haven't been here long but have been for both the fall pumpkin event and now Cheekwood in Bloom. Both were handled so well, given the pandemic, and such pleasant events! Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.
Beautiful gardens and art! I loved how spacious and open it is with lots to see along the way. We went with our two little kids and in-laws and everyone had a great time. It was a perfect activity for social distancing and exploring and we'll definitely be back!
Absolutely worth the price. I'm sore a day after from walking the grounds and the mansion, but it was totally worth it as well. All of the staff were lovely and very helpful especially at night when we were walking back to the car.nnHoping to come back in October for the pumpkin festival!
