We very much enjoyed our self-guided tour of the Nathaniel Russell House today. The house has been fully restored and they are currently restoring the attached kitchen, laundry, and slave quarters. Their attention to detail is impressive.
My wife and I were in Charleston for a weekend getaway, strolling around, came upon the Nathaniel Russell house and decided to check it out, and am very glad we did. Being a bit of a history buff, I was really interested to learn about life in a time not so long ago, and how different life was. The guided tour through the app was very well done. I would highly recommend a visit.
Nice place to visit, but the self-guided tour doesn't work. Too much info and too slow for us, not enough info for the random family assigned to walk with us. Need written info and plaques instead of an app
I love going to museums and historical places but this house wasn't worth the money or time. $12 to see few rooms? Only two floors were available for viewing, an office, living room and a bedroom. Nothing exciting. Person at the desk was cold, reluctant to greet properly. I would not recommend.
Great site, but the tour itself was a little off because you have to go with others using 1 phone. Still a must see though!
