Wonderful information! Digital stuff was really cool!
Provides a lot of information about the area. Enjoyed it
The South Carolina Historical Society museum is a great addition to the places that locals and visitors alike should have on there list of places to visit. For locals, its a great place to visit and the learn more about the history of the state, and the Charleston area. It's also a great place to take out of town guests. For visitors to the area, the museum offers a great introduction to the city, and it provides more accurate information and insight into Charleston history, and South Carolina history, then most tours will provide. The Fireproof Building is a beautiful place to visit with a rich history of it's own, the architecture of the building alone is worth the price of admission. But there is a lot more to see, with it brilliantly curated exhibits, friendly staff, and affordable gift shop makes the museum a great place to visit. There is a lot of great places to visit in Charleston SC, and the South Carolina Historical Society museum is certainly one of those places. The museum is handicap accessible, and a parking garage is across Meeting Street, with entrances on Meeting or Queen Streets. Highly recommend a visit. No public restrooms
I really liked visiting the South Carolina Historical Society and all of the history and education on display. It is great to have so much history to learn about and the museum has a great number or cool displays that are well worth checking out and learning from. Everything here is very well organized and put together and it is a good opportunity to learn something new even if you think that you already know it all. The staff here is very excellent and knowledgeable. I had a really good experience at the South Carolina Historical Society and look forward to being able to return in the future to experience it again and show it off to some guests that want to learn more about the rich history of South Carolina.
Great museum, a nice glimpse into the history of Charleston, and a beautifully maintained historical building.
