Had a great tour of the house today with Bernice who was so sweet and gave us great information. We got to see the house, his and his nephew’s work, and a small gift shop. Also got to see Philip’s office and workshop which is still in use today. The front house was occupied by family and you can see artwork in the cement by Philip. Highly recommend this as part of the true Charlestonian history experience. You need to walk down the small drive to the side of the main house to get to the smaller house museum.

Good history that I would have never known unless I did the Gullah tour. The tools in the workshop date back to 1800s. Couldn't get into the home on this particular day, I wish we could have

Absolutely worth the visit. It is a gem in African American history.

No access to the home. Building in the picture isn't the actual home which is in the rear behind the building shown.
