Renewed Appreciation For The BrandnFirst, the negative. This hotel is in desperate need of a makeover. Not only upgrades, but more attention to cleanliness details is a must. Especially at the rates being charged. The rates are too high at this point to reflect the accommodations. I was surprised at how worn the rooms were, from fixtures, to furniture, to wallpaper and carpet. The rooms themselves do not reflect the Hilton brand, major lack of upgrades and cleanliness. My 4 star rating is for the staff and management I personally dealt with over my stay.nI stay at Embassy Suites because I've used the brand for decades, and I know what to expect. This experience started off on some negatives, with the airport shuttle not being operational to unable to contact someone at the front desk after calling for several days in a row. When we arrived, we were not given the room we booked. I returned to the front desk to show my booking information and what was expected as well as paid for accommodations from the website. Apologies were expressed and a room upgrade was given. The next morning I spoke with management regarding the concerns, and was very pleased with the sincere concern and heartfelt response of someone in the hospitality industry who truly wanted to please their patrons and take hospitality very seriously as their job and passion. I was sent up a complimentary snack bag of waters, Naked drinks and Kind bars, and given a free nights stay coupon for future use. Yes, I am keeping out all the unpleasant details that occurred at check-in with the wrong room, and then having to move rooms, but the point is, although some errors should not have occurred, everyone I dealt with made the efforts in their own capacity to make it right. And for that, although frustrating to experience, I appreciated. Feeling unsure about the booking, to check-in mishaps, to moving rooms, the staff with their hospitable efforts made me feel good about my decision to book with the brand that meets my expectations. That is what renewed my appreciation. We left with a smile. Thank you front desk staff, dining staff, and management.

Absolutely one huge and gorgeous hotel! I have friends staying there and went to visit them. When I arrived I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from the lady working the front desk. Rooms looked very spacious and were extremely comfortable and quiet once inside. Just a lovely place!

Great place (and honest employees-read for explanation)nnWe booked here for my daughter’s birthday. She wanted to see Charleston. We also had a friend fighting in a tournament nearby and the hotel is in an excellent location for both.nnWe enjoyed our room, the breakfast was good, and my teens enjoyed the pool/hot-tub.nnHere is the bone headed part where I really messed up. After leaving, we realized I left an envelope with a bunch of cash and two unused cc in it due to a miscommunication. We try to use cash and save up (Dave Ramsey Plan) so we don’t go into debt. Unfortunately, we had our emergency money, birthday money, and emergency car repair money in the envelope. We were almost 2 hours away when we realized it. We called and the front desk supervisor, Andrea, jumped right on it. The house keeping staff (Connie) located it. Andrea called me and they kept it safe until our return. I’m not sure that would have happened with most people/places. Huge shout out to them!nnSo, I enthusiastically recommend this hotel for many reasons, but the staff are amazing!

Sub par service for expensive price. Had to chase down housekeeper everyday for clean towels. Says its pet friendly but as soon as we step outside for a smoke, we get a call saying our dogs are non-stop barking and its our first warning. We go upstairs and the housekeeper is banging on the walls in the next room. $125 per day per animal. Can't leave them unattended in the room. Carpet is wrinkled in hallways which is a hazard and can cause someone to trip and get hurt. Continental breakfast every morning with potatoes eggs bacon French toast sausage. For a 3 night stay it was 860 dollars plus 125x3 for the animals. Highway robbery if you ask me. Location was great. Only 17 minutes from isle of palms and 30 min from folly beach.

We have stayed here nearly every year January and May for dance conventions. The idea is great—hotel connected to the convention center!! However this location really needs to clean it up. The bed was clean and comfy. Staff was average to good. Breakfast was disgusting. Please stop reconstituting eggs—you fry up bacon and sausage, please just scramble real eggs. The guest room bathrooms are in desperate need of a make over. The hallways have carpet that is so worn one must be careful not to trip over the 2” wave of carpeting. There are so many newer, cleaner hotels in very close proximity. Please Hilton step up your game! Time to renovate this Embassy Suites.
