Haskell County Sheriff's Office

If I could select zero stars, I totally would. Had a missed call from someone at the jail. I went onto the calling company’s website to see what the charges would be and couldn’t find any info on it so I called the Haskell County Jail to try to get some info. The woman I spoke to was not only so very terribly rude, she made extra efforts to not help me or answer my questions. I was asking about the costs of calls and she cut me off and said “I don’t know what to tell you. We don’t pull out inmates for calls and I don’t know anything about calls. So...”. So I asked her about visitation hours and how to go about them. She cut me off again and said “Uh, yeah. We’re pretty booked.”. I asked what that means and she said “By appointment only and we don’t have anything till the 4th”. I went to ask her about any other days available and she cut me off AGAIN & said “So do you want an appointment or not?!”. As I was trying to start recording the phone call, I said “Wow. Okay. You are f****** rude!” & accidentally hung up. So I made sure my phone was recording and called back. I immediately asked her what her name was and who her supervisor is and if I could speak to them. She REFUSED to answer me and tell me her or her supervisors name!!! She then victimized herself and said that I hung up on her and called her names and just straight LIED!! She refused to answer my questions and when I told her that I WILL be calling back and I WILL be speaking to someone about her, SHE HUNG UP ON ME!! So I called BACK! She answered without greeting and said “ma’am, if you don’t stop calling, I’m going to report you to my supervisor and turn this over!”. I laughed and said “PLEASE DO! THATS WHAT IVE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS WHOLE TIME!! I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR!!”. She then hurried up and booked me an appointment for Dec. 4th and tried to hurry off the phone with me and I quickly demanded her name before she hung up on me again and she said “My name is Laura. Thanks for ruining my Thanksgiving!!” and pretended to cry!!nThis woman was an absolutely HORRIBLE representation of this Sheriffs Dept and with behavior like that, ESPECIALLY ON THANKSGIVING, she should NOT be working there or even working with the public AT ALL!!nShe STILL NEVER GAVE ME HER BOSSES NAME AND I SWEAR I WILL FIND OUT WHO HER BOSS IS AND REPORT HER ASAP!! If she spoke to me like that even though I know all of the ins and outs and rules of a jail/sheriffs dept, I can only imagine how she treats those who don’t know the rules and chain of command and all that follows!! SHAME ON YOU, LAURA!!!!!

HASKELL COUNTY COMMISIONERS BORROWED 7.5 MILLION DOLLARS TO BUILD A 4 MILLION DOLLAR JAIL.THEY FORMED A COMMITEE COMPRISED OF THEMSELFS TO BE OVER SPENDING THINKING THEY COULDNT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AS COMMISIONERS. PAID CONTRACTORS EVEN THOUGH WORK WASNT COMPLETED. THEY PUT UP 1/2 OF PROJECTED TAX REVENUE WHICH WAS BASED ON SPIKE WE HAD IN 2010 FOR THE NEXT 16 YEARS AS COLLATERAL.COULDNT MAKE $ 33,000 MONTHLY PAYMENT SO REFINANCED AND NOW HAVE $55,000 PAYMENT THEY CANT MAKE. THEY WANT TO RAISE TAXES TO PAY FOR THEIR IMMENCE STUPIDITY AND ARE 1 MONTH AWAY FROM DEFAULTING ON LOAN WHICH WILL PUT A STOP FOR CITYS AND SCHOOLS TO GET MUCH NEEDED GRANTS SINCE NOTHING IS PRODUCED HERE FOR REVENUE. AS TAXPAYERS WE ARE JUST FINDING OUT.THEY HAVE THEIR MEETINGS EVERY MONDAY MORNING AT COURTHOUSE AND IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. ITS AT 10:OOAM WHEN MOST PEOPLE ARE AT WORK.HOW CONVENIANT. I THINK PEOPLE RUNNING FOR PUBLIC OFFICE SHOULD HAVE TO PASS A COMPETANCY TEST BEFORE FILING. IN THIS CASE IT WOULD HAVE SAVED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND THE CREDIT RATING OF OUR COUNTY. EVERYONE WHO HAS A CHILD IN SCHOOL,LIKES RUNN ING WATER,WORKING SEWER,MAINTAINED STREETS OR WANTS TO KNOW THE SCORES OF OU BASKETBALL GAMES SHOULD BE AT THESE MEETINGS. OF ALL THINGS IVE MENTIONED THE ONLY THING THE COMMISIONERS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT IS OU BASKETBALL.THEIR PAYCHECKS AND BENEFITS WILL STAY THE SAME NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS. SEVERAL AREA BUSINESS MEN HAVE STEPPED IN TO TRY AND FIX THIS MESS AND I HOPE THEY STICK AROUND TO OVERHAUL AND OVERSEE THE REPAIR 0F A FAILED SYSTEM.

15yrs in law enforcement,was black balled from law enforcement when I went after a dirty DA and two of his investigators so I know a little about corruption in high places and small towns.
