Keen Plumbing Co.

I had called numerous local plumbing companies for weeks with no response. I call keen and they came right out. I had use them at another location for another company and they did a superior job for us then as well.

The Workers: Joe and Loneil (not sure of the spelling)nnThe receptionist said they would be at the house in 20 minutes and they arrived 10 minutes early.nnThe two did not introduced themselves and skipped the pleasantries.nnJoe asked what the main issue is, I told them the shower backs up with water. He said it is probably the main line. He and his assistant dug a hole by the house where the main line is to find water and a hole in the pipe. The main line was clogged like Joe said. They turned on the bathtub and washer machine at the same time to see if snaking the main line would fix the issue.nnAlso, I told Joe about the washer machine main drainpipe would back up with water when in the rinse cycle. Joe started snaking my main drain behind the washer machine. This did not work as my pipe was too small for the snake causing Joe to use an air gun. He was able to clear out that area.nnAll work was completed in what seemed about 1 hour. Price was great, but they could only guarantee this fix for 24 hours.nnOverall I am satisfied and would use them again.

I requested a Rheem water heater that came in a cabinet, and it fit under the counter. The girl I spoke with was Tricia, but she was asking someone in the office the cost of the item. He told her and then she told me $700 for the water heater and $115/hr. for labor. They told me they did not need to come out before the job just to check the measurements. I agreed. The company seemed the most reasonable.nnWhen the guys got here they did not have a Rheem. Of course, I did not find out until they had pulled the old one out. The new one would not fit. (see pictures) They pulled it out and went to the shop to retrieve another water heater. It was supposed to come with an energy blanket. They did not install it with one, even though I mentioned it to one of them. The guy told me they could put it on later only they later found out they could not do it get it on. They abandoned it, left a mess in the kitchen, left the energy blanket on the floor and walked out the door. Now I have a water heater that is not wrapped and it sits against an outside wall. The whole purpose of the energy blanket it to keep the electic bills down. I will be paying higher hot water bills. They also damaged my countertop when they removed the old water heater and it and needs replacing. I spoke with Mr. Casey off and on during the day and he was most uncooperative and disagreeable. He told me he would NOT replace the countertop but would take $50 off take it or leave it.nOnly acceptable solution:nI want the water heater correctly installed with the energy blanket and I do not want to have to pay for it. I also want the damage that was done to the counter top replaced. and I do not want to have to pay for that either. I sent a complaint to the BBB.nI uploaded 5 pictures 4 of the installation of the first unit with damage shown and a copy of the receipt.

We've used Keen Plumbing on several occasions, including running a line into the city's sewer system, replacing old pipes, and standard maintenance. They're always professional, reasonably priced, and aarive on time and leave the job site clean. If you need a plumber I highly recommend Keen Plumbing.

Had been using Keen for years but last time I called I was told the price was $125.00 per hour plus tax and if needed...parts. I knew that was higher than they used to charge but anyway they came the next morning and after unplugging a clog in the drain charged me $200.16! I was shocked at the bill. My son called the next day and they told my son that they were at my house 55 minutes but it took the plumbers 9 minutes to get to my house after receiving the call so that pushed it over an hour and added $75 to the bill. So I paid $75 for the plumbers to drive to my house...this is unacceptable. I worked 33 years and not once did I get paid to drive to where I was doing my job! The plumber who came told me they had gone up due to Covid????? Needless to say people... I am no longer using Keen Plumbing. I have checked prices at other plumbers and the one I will use is below $100 .and thats including tax for a service call. Check around unless you can afford not to.
