Mlots of nice history and artifacts . Highly recommend it
Packed full of history. Make a point to visit (check the hours first), admission is free, but the knowledge within is priceless. Do ask questions, they are friendly and know their stuff.
Surprised, we stopped while in Franklin and while small they have some great historical items from going way back into the early 1800's
What a great place to go to get educated on the history of Franklin. The volunteers are eager to help in any way they can. They have a decent collection of old Franklin Press newspapers and donated memorabilia to look at. If you really want a look into the past I suggest purchasing the History of Macon County books (Vol. I & II) they have for sale. I also purchased the book 150 years of Franklin, Then and Now. A great pictorial history book.
Staff is knowledgeable. Lots of interesting pieces, pictures, artifacts. Definitely worth a visit if you're interested in Macon County history.
