Bladenboro Police Department

Decent Friday night Klan rallies.. besides that just fuzz

During Hurricane Matthew I had the fortunate misfortune of almost running out of gas in Bladenboro. The town was flooded, many roads were closed, bridges were collapsed and they had no power or cell service. The police department was working overtime, but Police Chief Hunt went the extra mile to help me. He was wonderful and I will never forget his kindness, dedication and humanity. I wasn't just another motorist passing through his town. Chief Hunt took the time to ensure my safety and found me a small amount of gas. He returned with the gas to me as he had promised, with him was Chaplin Larry Hayes. As we were filling my tank, a town resident passed by. He knew the Chaplin and Police Chief Hunt. I was parked in front of an auto body shop, the man must have been the proprietor of the shop. I do not know his name, but he was kind enough to provide me with enough gas to get to Fayetteville or Tar Heel, where I could hopefully get more gas. Chaplin Hayes offered to show me the way to Tar Heel. Without him showing me the way I'm afraid I would have run out of gas again. He drove at least 20 minutes out of his way to escort me to Tar Heel. As it turned out I was not able to get gas in Tar Heel or Fayetteville. I eventually made it to my destination of Myrtle Beach the next day. Without the help of Bladenboro Chief Hunt and Chaplin Hayes I do not know what I would have done. I cannot thank them enough. They were wonderful and kind to me at a very difficult time for their town.
