The Lodges at Sunset Village

My girlfriend and I recently stayed here when we went skiing at wisp. We had a great experience. The lodges are 4 minutes away from wisp. Parking is right outside the cabins making it easy to bring ski gear and bags inside. Very clean and well cared for. The kitchen was awesome. Full-size fridge, toaster, dishes, and silverware. The fireplace and hot tub were amazing following a cold day of skiing. Customer service was top notch. My work schedule changed and we had to switch our ski trip. The situation was explained to Amber who was very gracious and understanding. She allowed us to change days without a hassle or fees. The walls are thin and one can hear everything from the adjoining cabin. Not ideal if a noisy family is staying on the other side. Overall we would definitely stay here again!

Wife and I stayed 3 nights in cabin 49R and had a wonderful stay. From the first delightful person I met at check in to the delivery people from the restaurant all were top notch in service and courtesy. Nice cabin with just the right touch of rustic and modern decor. The cabin was stocked with a super comfy bed, best shower I have ever had the pleasure of taking away from home, nice gas fireplace, as well as an overlooking view of the Wisp ski resort and the surrounding beautiful mountains and countryside through a large sliding glass doors that opens onto back deck.We had two dinners and one lunch from the Pine Lodge Steak House delivered right to the cabin door and the food was five star and served fresh while still being piping hot. One final touch was the refreshing ease of making a reservation and the amount of communication over the course of our stay from staff onsite. Overall my wife and I had a truly stellar stay and I'm positive we will return again for another.

The rooms were very spacious and clean. Loved the fireplace, fridge/freezer and other amenities! It was a very cozy place to stay with a significant other or with a small family! Parking was right outside of our cabin with very easy access. The staff was extremely friendly. I left something in my room and they called me after they cleaned to let me know that they had it. They had the option to choose a room with a hot tub which was great! There was not much privacy when using it, but it was still very relaxing!

This is NOT the place to go for a quiet, romantic getaway! My husband and I wanted to get away for a weekend so we booked a cabin here. Within minutes of being in our room, we knew we couldn't stay there. They have single room/king bed rooms sharing a cabin with family suites. The family next to us had kids literally bouncing off the walls! They were so loud and rambunctious. Whoever designed those cabins didn't do a good job with noise control. You can hear everything they are doing in the other room. The second floor bedroom in the neighboring cabin came over our bed so I imagine we'd be up all night listening to the noise. We called the office right away and the only other option in all of Deep creek was to stay in the guesthouse in the basement of the check-in cabin. There is no fireplace in there. The rooms however were super clean and the beds were comfy! We had an issue with our room getting really chilly and that's because the heat for our room was controlled upstairs in the office. But given the circumstances, we felt they were as accommodating as they could be.nThe other thing to consider.... I would NOT eat at the Pine lodge steakhouse! Our meal the first night we were there was awful, absolutely disappointing. We got a $25 giftcard with our stay at the Lodges and we do we felt like we should use it- go elsewhere! Deep Creek redeemed itself the next night with dinner at Dutch's at Silver tree. That food and service was top notch - would definitely recommend!

We were supposed to stay at Sunset Village in late December 2020. The day before our reservation, my family came down with Covid and we had to cancel our trip. Sunset Village would not refund our money, which I understand. They did agree to give us 90 days to re-book a visit. We couldn't make that work, but I asked them to let us book our stay 5 days past the 90 day window. Their policy only allows for 90 days, not 95, and they wouldn't adjust it. Bummer. The people I spoke to were pleasant to deal with, but I can see that they have empty rooms/availability, so I'm disappointed at the lack of flexibility.
