Wisp Resort

We took a large group of people up and got a good deal. The staff was nice and the automated system was easy to use. The snow was typical eastern snow, see: slush and ice, which we expected and had fun carving and screaming down the hills. They have a reasonable mixture of hills and the lift rides are not long. For the price it was really to beat. I would recommend it!

Overall we had a great time. Kids participated in snowboard lessons, we all got rental equipment and lift tickets. The ease for the lessons and getting our rentals was easy and smooth. The lesson was a group lesson so it was 1.5 hours. The instructor taught them some basics and then they practiced on the bunny slope. The lines for the lifts on the weekends did get long but moved relatively quick. The mountain coaster was a lot of fun, just make sure to buy your tix in advance.

I have watched this resort grow over the years snd it is my favorite summer and winter resort. As a skier I found many trails to my liking. I like the layout of the trails and how the lifts are spaced. Lift lines moved quickly. It is an easy day trip from my residence in West Virginia. I have 4 ski resorts in West Virginia to chose from but would rate Wisp number 1

When there is fresh snow, it's a great place to ski/snowboard. Limited amount of runs but good variety of green/blue/black. Getting and returning rentals went extremely fast. The lifts seem to often have issues, but they were able to fix them within a few minutes each time.

We have been to several ski resorts in the WV/MD/VA area but have to say that Wisp has been our FAVORITE! It's SO nice to have something to call 'ours' in our 'new' home state. We came because they offered Heroes Day, and my husband retired from 24 years of USMC service on January 1--what better way to celebrate? The COVID pandemic has left us unable to really travel out of state, but even if we could, we will continue to choose Wisp as our ski vacation of choice. In fact, we're booked to come back in two weeks because of such a lovely experience!nnSki School was AWESOME--the 'group' lesson was small and personal, and our instructor, Dan, was a delightful and patient young man who advanced my son and his best friend while still making sure this mom didn't break any bones! He's definitely an asset to the school program.nnThe lodging is clean and I can't get over how polite everyone is--from the wonderful check-in people at the front desk to the men and women changing trash and the people cleaning our rooms. EVERYONE in rental (especially Michael who logged people in for ski rental and often by himself!) was so polite, helpful, friendly and fun. Tubing and the coaster were a BLAST and we can't wait to do them again!nnJust a delightful experience here in Maryland, and a breath of fresh air from many of the 'local' (VA) ski resorts that don't seem to have quite the 'personal' and 'family-business' like feel that Wisp does.nnA must-do if you like skiing and even if you're like me, and prefer to sit in the lodge lobby and stay warm, just as great a time!
