I read about this in The Capital newspaper and decided that I would make the trek from Laurel. The road is fine but unremarkable. getting to the water is pretty but there's nothing to do there unless you have a kayak or canoe. The trail is unmarked and looked a little bit iffy to me as someone who doesn't like to deal with ticks. I'm glad they're trying to help the local vegetation come back. But as a person who likes to sit on the beach, this is not for me.

Waste of time. All trails in the open field area are overgrown in two feet of grass. Only trail to hike was the very short one in the woods, which is not maintained, near the beaches which were closed. The road in and the parking area was very nice and well maintained.

I used to go hear often. I would walk our dog and enjoy the nature. There are two small access points to the bay. One has a small beach. I Loved the peacefulness because of how little people we would see. I don't go anymore because of the big bug problem. Even with repellent, you will get ticks, mosquito bites, and chiggers. After a bad bout of sickness from chiggers, I decided not to go back. This is not a place to take your kids.

Plenty of parking and great water access for kayaks.

There are a bunch of crybabies in this comment section. It’s a park; you can walk there and see the water. What else do you people want?
