Laurel Police Department

Absolutely horrendous.nnThe governor's guidance is unclear as to whether I am considered essential personnel. I called this organization to clarify the enforcement of that law.nnThe lady directed me to the governor's website, which I had already checked and didn't clarify. As I was starting to describe my situation for clarification, she hung up on me.nnA police organization should be able to tell citizens how a law does or does not apply to them.nnI will now be leaving the house and possibly committing a misdemeanor crime... or not. Who knows?nnIn either case, I decided to write this review here and you can bet it will come up in a courtroom in the event the police take issue with my choice when their own teammates refuse to issue guidance.

The do a good job patrolling my community and are always responsive if I report an issue.

Was stopped for having a lit Mercedes Emblem, I was frisked and Car was searched.nDiscrimination is real in Laurel MD. Especially for minority. Cop ud83dudc6e had the nerve to say I don’t know what you do for a living and then proceeded to explain marijuana laws in MD vs DC where my Tags are registered.

Not helpful at all. I live across the street from a restaurant and they play music ridiculously loud to the point where my apartment is shaking and my dogs are howling. I call and ask the restaurant if they can turn it down, because this is my home and its not like I can just leave, and they say that they cannot until 11 and apologize. This is ridiculous. I LIVE here. I cannot change where I live but they CAN turn their music down a bit. There is no reason I should be able to feel the vibrations from their restaurant and hear their music pounding when I live 0.2 miles away. I then call the police department and they say there is nothing that they can do until 11pm. So let me get this straight, I have to deal with this in a place I pay thousands of dollars to live but if I were to turn around and do the same, my party would be shut down for noise concerns. Absolutely ridiculous! I am moving back to Montgomery County immediately!

They were very gentle when they handcuffed me and their patrol vehicles are incredibly roomy. Overall, very professional. Would totally get arrested by them again.
