Makena Landing Park

Absolutely love this beautiful beach! Great entry for snorkeling and public restrooms. The snorkeling is wonderful as well! The bay is protected and makes for a great snorkel. We saw many turtles just inside the bay and they have a secluded beach where they like to rest and you can photograph them there from a safe distance.nThey have lots of shade with grass so it is a great place to hangout all day.

Best place for amateurs to snorkel and see turtles and small fish. Stick to the north rough coastline and there is a 10 ft deep alcove or shoreline that the turtles sun bathe. It's bordered by private property but can be accessed the fence along the beach of you want to walk rather than snorkel.

Generally this is a decent snorkeling beach. It has a rest room, showers and changing area. Today the surf was high with murky water and few fish to see. There were small craft warnings and clearly this is one aspect of that--I should have known..... ;-)

Great small beach. Rocky but a nice small cove of sand to launch your boards or kayaks. Amazing sunset spot.

This is a tiny little beach with some really great snorkeling super close to shore. Lots of corals had built up on the (lava?) rock formations, providing habitats for lots of cool fish and sea turtles. Yesterday we did a boat tour to Coral Gardens, and this was basically the same experience for free. We saw 4 sea turtles today alone! We loved this spot!
