Grand Wailea Maui, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

This is a fantastic hotel. The hotel itself is amazing, the rooms very clean and nice, the grounds were well manicured and kept up. The hotel has many pools and hot tubs, and fun activities... The staff was very friendly and helpful.. The only small issue I had was the availability of pool chairs. The process was hard. The day before (starting at 4pm) you need to go online and reserve the chairs for the day. But starting at that time, everyone is doing this and it is difficult getting in. Once you get the chairs you have them for the full day, and they constantly watch to see if they are being used or not through the day and release them as they see they are not being used. You have to then log in periodically during the day to see if they are released. Its a bit of a pain... With the number of guests this hotel can get, it is a tricky thing. Perhaps only allowing reservations of the chairs for 1/2 day...nnOther than the chairs the hotel was exceptional!

I’d give a 3.5/ 5 if that were an option.nnMy biggest issue is with the 3 Bedroom Villas being nearly 3/4 of a mile from the beach. There is no shuttle service or golf carts- and we brought my mom who is 59 years old. She could only go to the beach once a day because the walk back to the villa is fully uphill and steep.nnIf you are older or out of shape, avoid the villas. It surprises me there is no shuttle service.nnThe way the website depicts the villas you’d think they are onsite. We ordered an ocean view villa thinking it would be close... here is the depiction on the website vs reality. I feel pretty misled- and we had to pay $2000 a night.nnOverall, the actual resort is top notch and the staff is excellent. The family friendly wave pool and baby beach are so great. The beach here is the best in Maui.nnWe saved up and went big on the villas but in the end we’re bummed out it was so far away and my moms enjoyment was limited.

They have figured it out on all levels to ensure that every member of your group will have a truly wonderful experience.nnYou can certainly feel the warmth of their staff as they live up to Hawaii's legendary hospitality and were always willing to help however possible.nnTheir pools are a treat for all ages. The youngsters will love the smaller slides, the teens and adults will have a great time with the bigger slides, which turned out to be an unexpected thrill. They have an adult pool that was quite the respit for us when we got the chance to enjoy it (three kids under the age of four). Also, everyone will appreciate the lazy river and the beach Grand Wailea has to offer.nnThere's no hotel we would rather stay at.

Our favorite hotel in the world. I can't imagine going to a better place! The views, the beach, the restaurants, the pool grotto, the water slides....it has it all. And, most important, the relaxing views of Wailea. Highly recommend!

We just had a wonderful family vacation at the Grand Wailea. The rooms and common areas were kept clean. The beds were super comfortable. The staff members were friendly and helpful.
