Big fan of Granby ranch. I'm not a wildly experienced skier, and neither were the other 7 I came with. Maybe 3 of us were experienced. It's a fantastic place which covers a wide range of skills. Their practice area is a decently long run for practice, so there's a lot of time to learn your edges and get the hang of things. Outside of that, they have some good 10-15 minute runs for some casual skiing, and some absolutely wild black diamonds. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. They are extremely quick to get rentals out, fastest I've worked with. The lift staff is happy to see you, and happy to slow down the lift for new-comers. Would recommend for brand new skiers and well-experienced. If you're looking for an extreme challenge, I might recommend a place a bit larger.
We were blown away by the exceptional service by the entire staff! Every single person genuinely wanted to help and had great attitudes! The resort itself was perfect for our group of teen first time skiers but still challenging enough for the experienced ones to enjoy too! The perfect size! We can’t wait to come back!
Had an absolute blast. I started out as a novice, and had ski school with the best instructor around. Jess was amazing and had me tackling slopes in no time. Also, Carrie at the ice bar made sure our Jameson shots were poured before we could even ask! Can't wait to come back next year. 100% must visit.
We had a great experience at Granby Ranch. Usually ski Winter Park but decided to try GR for one of our ski days. Four kids and two adults with varying ski abilities in our group and everyone found something to make the day enjoyable. Terrain park was a hit and a couple of the kids enjoyed being able to ski the trees. Service was also excellent. All the workers on the mountain were kind and friendly. Ski patrol checked in with us a couple times throughout the day. The food and service was excellent. I'd go to the base for that alone! We had a chicken Caesar salad, cheese curds, chicken tenders with fries, and nachos...all very tasty. We will definitely go back when we are looking for a low-key ski day in the future.
Pretty disappointed in the snowboard lessons. I have 3 kids, first time taking a lesson. I understand there’s only so much you can teach in 3 hours to beginners but I was under the impression they would teach the kids how to get up by themselves, skate with their boards to the lifts, and stop safely. After the lesson, took my kids to the next size hill and it was as if they didn’t take a lesson at all.
