Rockwood Depot

This is the current start / stop point for the DSNGRR. This is a historic railroad built over 140 years ago and runs original equipment on an incredibly scenic route from Rockwood Depot down the mountain and back. The views are breathtaking. There are conductors that circulate during the trip and point out points of interest and answer any questions.nnJust a warning, the Rockwood Depot parking area and yard is covered in heavy gravel so walking can be a challenging, pushing a wheel chair could be difficult.nnThis is a fun trip, check it out.

The views were breathtaking. Even with the adjustments due to Covid-19, it was an amazing trip. The staff was friendly and informative. The museum in Durango was interesting and overflowing with so much history.

Can't wait to see the fall foliage on the train.
