Durango & Silverton Railroad Silverton Station

Just fabulous two hours train tour! Especially in winter time, this is the only Steam train still running for scenic tour. It is absolutely gorgeous and romantic to see the big white Steam with whistles running along the creek and cascade canyon. My boy was excited all the time. The windows can be open. We bought the nice signature blanket for $35, still a nice deco on my couch.

The station isn't the attraction, but downtown is just a couple of blocks away. The locomotives are rustic and awe-inspiring; seeing an old steam engine belch smoke into the air and hearing it chug as it starts moving is something special.

Very pretty, but you can only get there by car. The train does not run to Silverton these pandemic days.

Very nice to be able catch the train here between Silverton and Durango. The train tracks come almost into town. It's a great experience to pick up the train here. It's quite an authentic and unique experience. Parking is very easy to find along the streets of Silverton and was safe to leave while riding the train with the bus return. Highly recommend riding the train.

Really like this old town. A tourist place with neat stores to see. Souvenirs and clothing stores are abundant as are some restaurants with good food.nThe steam engines come in from Durango through the mountains for a really cool ride and goes back to Durango.
