Kirkwood Mountain Resort

Love this place. Lots of terrain, both moderate and advanced. Lots of lifts you can get to easily from various parking lots, and work your way across the mountain. Highly recommended. But tell anyone because it wasn't busy and lift likes were shoe. Love that! Suggestion to Kirkwood..put in more high speed lifts and gates that read passes.

Always a great mountain with fun runs. Despite low snow, still some great skiing. I wish Summit was a high-speed lift, but that is my only complaint.. Staff is always friendly, fun and helpful. I love this place for over 35 years!!

Kirkwood Mountain Resort is a wonderful ski resort located about forty five minutes from South Lake Tahoe. It is hardly ever crowded and there is plenty of parking if you arrive before 9:30am. There are several dining options along with a nice bar located in the premises. The terrain is wonderful and always enjoyable.

Love this resort. Staff and fellow skiers are always friendly. This is definitely a slope geared more towards skiers than boarders, but I am a skier and I always go with a boarder and we have no trouble finding activities we can do together. Finally got to experience the back country. Loved it. Strongly recommend if you are looking for a quieter resort with fellow skiers more interested in having a great time skiing than worrying about their designer, matching outer wear.

Kirkwood is a great mountain for a variety of skiing with offerings afforded by a few resorts. The bowl on the back side has a massive cornice that's great to practice on. There are chutes in between the main faces offering various degrees of difficulty. And Kirkwood gets great snow for the Tahoe area.
