Jersey Mike's Subs

I was at the Metuchen store on 4/12/2021. One was a trainee and the other guy was the trainer. The trainer was running around like he was in a frenzy.I order 2 different sandwiches. Got home and one was the wrong sub, he other was put together like he used a shovel. First time that's ever happened at that store, hope it's the last!!

Came for chipotle but the long lane threw me off. Jersey Mikes the sandwich place to go and they gave me extra attention. This is a great alternative and healty too.

2/27/21 appx 8pm. We were asked to wait about 5 minutes for the place to catch up making sandwiches as we were told by middle age guy lots of ink. We placed an order for 2 veggie sandwiches no cheese. Explained that we were both vegan He tried to sell us on a press made with parmigiana cheese because he had to walk to the back to get 1 loaf of white bread.(strike one) He placed the loaf on a bunch of leftover roast beef (strike 2). He then told us that the person next to him would be happy to help with the vegetable selection. He slid the bread across roast beef ham and turkey from the subs we waited for him to make before taking our order (strike three). He stops sliding the bread and it ends up in a puddle of liquid (I assume oil or water still gross and not what I’d like my bread dipped in). (Strike 4)The next kid gets our bread picks it up and literally stares at it for 1-2 minutes. I don’t know if he was stoned or what. I should have video taped it. It was like he was just seeing bread for the first time in his life and his job is to make sandwiches. It was unreal. He kept asking the first guy what should he do with this. And was getting visibly frustrated when the answer was it’s a veggie sub (strike 5). Place is/was disgusting if it wasn’t Covid we would have walked out the moment we walked in. We as the most of us, try and spend our dollars locally on times like this. My opinion. This one isn’t worth saving.

$40 and a 35 minute wait for two below average, dry sub sandwiches doesn’t even deserve 1 star. This is why Metuchen never used to permit chains in our town. Always go to ‘The Original’ LaRosa Pizza for subs and all good food! It’s just right across the parking lot!!!!

Not only did I wait and watch the worker stock mountains of pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and hot peppers into their bins instead of making my sub for at least 2 minutes, but the bread was stale and he didn’t put mayo or pickles on it. So, I sat in the parking lot and ate a dry sub after spending $10. If I wasn’t starving I would have just thrown it out. Next time I want a sub I will just go to a mom and pop place.
