Well run police department with friendly, professional officers. Over the last 2 years since I purchased in Winsted, I have had three interactions with their officers. Bart stopped to chat with me as I was moving things into my storage unit and was friendly and helpful. Tyler stopped me as I had rolled through a stop sign with my fiance - my fault - and gave me a break with a verbal warning, and lastly two officers responded within 2 minutes when I reported a 4 or 5 year old walking on a public street late at night in front of a bar. As someone who has worked in law enforcement as a community service officer many years ago, I am somewhat familiar with how police departments operate. And this department does it well. I salute Winsted's finest!

The chief of police seems to be a good guy, on the other hand officer Barns is a disgusting human being and cop. He and another red haired cop will mess with teenagers constantly and officer barns is constantly under the impression everyone does drugs and pulls you over and makes you leave town due to getting harrased cconsistently. I now refuse to go to this town and even talked my mom out of buying a house here a couole months back just due to my experiences .These statetments above are my own personal thoughts, beliefs and opinions. Also If the two officers listed above harrass you, dont take the high road like me file a complaint with the cheif and make sure you have documentation that it was filed appropriately and stays on their file. Correction his name is TYLER BRUNS.
