Nice little historic building in downtown New Ulm. There is a small fee to get in, but it's free to walk outside. If you happen to be strolling by, stop in and take a look.

The Kiesling House is a must-stop while in the city of New Ulm. Upon entering, we were asked if we would rather have a self tour or guided tour. My husband and I opted for the guided tour, which I would HIGHLY recommend! Our tour guide was dressed in 1860s attire and was very knowledgable about the time period and overall a phenomenal storyteller.nnMy husband and I were simply on a drive when we stumbled upon this town. We learned SO MUCH about New Ulm's history simply by visiting the Kiesling House. Our tour guide was absolutely incredible. When discussing the war with the Native American Dakota Tribe, she proceeded to describe what happened in a truly unbiased approach. My husband (who is Native American) and I deeply appreciated this.nnNew Ulm is a beautiful city with an abundance amount of history. When my husband and I ended our guided tour and went to leave, our guide approached us with a map and circled recommended places to visit. For $3 per person, it was well worth the visit. She also taught us how to make butter -- 1860s style! It was such a unique experience. As stated previously, this is a MUST STOP! :)nnIf you're in New Ulm, take the guided tour. It's fascinating. Bravo to our tour guide who was so informative and friendly.
