I've been visiting this cabin since I was a teenager (25+ years). It's a great little piece of history. It's nice to see it's still standing.
Love the Wittenbach Center. We walk here a lot and this cabin is adorable!
This wonderful little one-room log cabin can be a pleasant surprise to the unknowing hiker who wanders along the trail for the first time. Currently being protected and preserved on the land maintained as part of the Wege-Wittenbach Natural Area, the cabin was built by former land owner, Reg Cridler. He loved the natural beauty of the area and built this little cabin to help him enjoy the forest, meadows, and nearby Lee Creek. The Cridler family sold the property to the Wege Foundation in 1999 and the Land Conservancy took ownership more recently. It's and easy hike along a short trail suitable for all ages.
