Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home and National Museum

The museum and living history village were closed due to season which is understandable but does take a lot away from the experience. The buildings in the village are locked up aside from a fenced in chicken coop that still had chickens there which I found strange given the closure. There of course are still park rangers and others around doing maintenance etc. This took maybe an hour to hour and a half to see all that was there and walk the loop. Good stop to stretch legs and see some Lincoln history!

It was on our to do list. Not as exciting as Great Smokies but still part of America's history. Worth the side trip. Hitting twenty National Parks on the trip was enjoyable. Beautiful sites and places to enjoy.

This was an absolute must to go to! So interesting and fun, just knowing that you are sitting where Abraham Lincoln sat as a child and the fact that he played out in the yard where you are standing is just fascinating to me!! So well worth the trip!

It takes about an hour to see everything from the museum, the cemetery, where Lincoln's home stood and all the other buildings nearby. The museum is very informative.

Lincoln home reminds me of my grandma's house and home cooked meals. ud83dudc4d
