It is so hard to go here and NOT be emotional, this is perfect tribute to Mitchell's own, and one of it's finest residents who gave his life for Space Exploration. Great Gift Shop, wonderful exhibits, shame Covid shut down the interactive parts of the museum, for ANY space buff/lover, this is a visit you can't miss. Give a couple dollars to the memorial box to keep this place going for generations to come. Don't forget the Memorial rocket garden on the site of Gus' elementary school in town just to the West.

Tony and I went to Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell, IN while we lived in Taylorsville KY area.nThe park was lovely, but we were pleasantly surprised that we found this Amazing Museum dedicated to Astronaut Virgil Grissom Memorial Museum.nnThe museum is FREE but accept donations. There is do much to see!!! Open daily from 8:30am to 4pm.nnThere is actual NASA Space Capsules and suits inside the museum and tons of signage for you to read. I highly was impressed with this museum and recommend it to everyone that's interested in Astronauts, NASA, Space Exploration etc...go check out this Free informative museum about one of our American Heroes!!!!nHope you enjoy!!!
