Visitor center was actually closed for covid
Great place
Pretty neat place, especially when the Sand Hill Cranes are migrating through. There's a new Eagle Scout project that created some blinds to be able to see from closer to parking lot. Right now, there are still parts closed due to the pandemic (Jan of 2021) so that kinda stinks. Great getaway for a few hours though!
The visitor center is currently closed due to COVID, but well worth a visit when able. Winter brings in ducks and Sandhill Cranes by the thousands, and recently Whooping Cranes have been regular there. There has even been a Tundra Swan there this winter. Bald Eagles are frequently seen here and nest nearby.
Wonderful! Never seen so many Sandhill Cranes and Whooping Cranes. The walking trail were great.
