Very concerned because my dad had been in the ER for 5 hours and we have not heard from anyone. Called several times with no results. Called again and was told I would be transferred to his nurse. I was transferred and the phone rang more than 8 times and I was then disconnected. I truly understand the hospital staff is extremely busy, but there are also anxious family members who are unable to be there with their loved ones because of COVID. A courtesy update would have been greatly appreciated.
If you’ve got a thermometer at home, you’ll do far better than going to the ER at Self. All they will do is take your temp and blood pressure. If the BP is high, it won’t matter. They’ll know not what to do.nnIf your doctor orders different tests to be performed at the ER, those tests will forcefully be denied.nnIf you call the ER manager to get an explanation, your call will be dropped.nnIf you’re experiencing an emergency, the Abbeville ER is where you want to go.
Friendly staff and nurses and doctors. The wait was a bit but, worth it when they knew how to solve the problem. Overall satisfied with experience.
Head nurse Jackie on call into the early morning of August 6th approximately 12:35am is doing a poor job getting patients seen. The staff is unresponsive & unbothered. I’m sitting here as my 16 year old niece bleeds uncontrollably. I have begged for her to be seen and she is still rocking in pain going on the 3rd hour. No one bothers with an update or cares to go by the severity of what’s in front of them.
