The good old and nowadays rare, honor box greats you at the gates. No biggie though $3 per adult adjustment rates for seniors/ kids. Quietly nestled beneath the oaks along the Ashley River, sits the remnants of Fort Dorchester. A leisurely stroll at your own pace allows plenty of time to take everything in. Well trodden foot paths will take you to the banks of the Ashley. Oak tree canopies provide the shade. Nice photo spot of course! Enjoy nature with a little local history thrown in.

Beautiful spot!!!! I have passed it so many times and finally drove in. It was pretty empty when I went and it was so peaceful. I was surprised that there weren’t any garbage cans anywhere, but impressed there was no sight of litter. Very clean and nature filled walk to check out the history in the area. Ruins are very well preserved. Great space to walk around and enjoy the outdoors! Also, it is dog friendly :)

This park has so much history that so few people know. It was a bustling economic hub in the 18th Century, and some great remains stand as a reminder of that past.nIt is a small park but a great place to mix history, the beautiful Ashley River, a picnic and some peace and quiet.

It was busy when I went. My dog Bailey & I had lunch & a walk. Pretty nice. Interesting history.
