This is an account of an out-of-office experience with a specific, unnamed, on-duty St. George, SC policeman.nI'm a professional Semi driver (18-wheeler operator). While backing into a parking space at the Flying-J truck stop in St. George, SC, an officer that holds us professionals to higher standards than the average driver was speeding around a corner at the back of the truck parking and almost ran into the side of my trailer. I might as well point out that it had been raining and was still drizzling while he was behaving this way. I approached the officer in question to discuss the risk he was taking with the lives of the drivers that might have been leaving their trucks to go get a meal or shower when I noticed the situation he had been responding to that he felt was so urgent. It was two truck drivers peacefully exchanging stories and insurance information after a minor rubbing of truck bodies. This guy's only contribution to the scene was the shining of his flashlight which was more than covered by the involved parties with their smart phones. I didn't have too many words with him but the few we had showed that he clearly mistook me for a fly buzzing around in his breathing space. I sincerely hope that this s not the common theme at the St. George, SC Police Department. Good day.
