Hunting Island Lighthouse

Easily my favorite place in South Carolina. Admission is just $2 per person and after a short climb, you're rewarded with panoramic views of the ocean and the South Carolina low country. The drive to get there is also epic in itself as it feels like you're driving through a palmetto jungle. Please don't be discouraged from climbing the lighthouse as the staircase is wide as far as lighthouses go and there are frequent landings for one to rest. These landings also provide interpretive signage to teach you more about the structure and the area. One of the access roads is currently closed, but pedestrians are able to walk on it - and I highly encourage it. For those looking for souvenirs, there's a gift shop immediately north of the light house.

Wonderful place to visit. Natural beach with beautiful views. Just be sure to get the early the line to get in the gate can get long. $8 adult $5 for 5 year old and up. Also have to purchase separate ticket for light house. It is a state park so it is dog friendly. Just clean up after yourself and pets.

Great SC park... never been there? Go! And Beaufort is quaint also. Be sure to visit Dockside restaurant. Please pack out your trash or use a receptacle.

Hunting Beach is grand. Best state park. Revenue helps to support all other state parks. Lighthouse is a bit underwhelming compared to other east coast lights. Enjoy the natural surroundings!
