Time to brush up on your history because this place is full of it I thought I was just coming to a place to see animals but I was in for a surprise this place has a museum ,beautiful gardens, a outside zoo,a African cemetery, old battlefields with canons and bunkers also a dock where the ships used to import and export goods and my personal favorite is the house where u can plan a wedding and eat outside on the patio all at the same time this is an excellent place to bring your family just be prepared for a whole day of walking unless u rent a bike from the museum but still great place to visit

The Animal Forest at Charles Towne Landing in West Ashley is on of my favorite features about the park and the only fully functioning zoo in the area. I like that all of the animals featured are connected to South Carolina and it is fun to learn about them. My favorite ones to watch are the bears, bisons, and birds.

Such a treat. All animals are specific to North America. Loved that. Lots of animals. Loved the aviary.

Beautiful place that we didn't thoroughly get to enjoy like we wanted because nature in the South is scary! ud83dude02 I saw a big snake cross our path on a narrow walking path and I ran like my life depended on it. I hate snakes, and I am not afraid to admit it. They freak me out. From that point forward I was only looking out for snakes and nervous as heck. My wife and I were weirded out and left shortly after.nThe wilderness in Charleston, SC is like watching an episode of 101 ways to die. It's the Everglades of SC. I imagine that this is how people in Australia live their lives. Just waiting for a random deadly spider, snake, or crazy reptile to kill you. ud83dude02 I'd rather risk a bear attack in the midwest than an alligator or snake encounter in the south. But I still love SC, and the city of Charleston.
