I highly recommend taking your family here. It's great for anyone, whether you love trains or not. It is super to show a little bit of history from our local area. it is done nice and there's a lot of authentic equipment. You can even hold the party in a dining car. There is also model railroad setup too. It is free to get in and again, I highly recommend taking children here. Our 2 year old granddaughter loved it.
Free museum with some good displays. They don't hold back on some of the Jim Crow history. I also checked out the model train set up. Nice folks here. Best part was: I picked up a walking map of the town of Milton and ambled around 3 miles enjoying the historic buildings.
We have taken our grandchildren there for many years and always enjoyed visiting there. The new model railroad train exhibit that's modeled after old Milton and old Pensacola is really amazing and well done.
What a great museum! The beautifully maintained L&N Depot is filled with interesting historic exhibits. In the old freight office, the model railroad is a fascinating work in progress showing historic Milton buildings. Go now (early 2021) to see how a display is put together by dedicated modelers.nnDefinitely spend some time at the outside display west of the depot with large (european?) gauge trains and marvelous landscaping with local plants. Though many are dormant in winter, gardeners who might not come to a train exhibit will be astonished at the landscaping. Little children will love the steam train ride that takes them around the entire exhibit.nnThis is a museum you will revisit whenever you get the chance.
Super nice little place if you like trains definitely a go to shout out to my old man.
