I moved from Aventura in Miami to Jupiter, mostly to find a better, more quiet life. Well, Beacon cove wiped my daughter's smile of her face and robbed her of her self-esteem in just under 2 months. She descended from being in advanced, always on principal's honor list, and in about the 95th percentile on standardized testing, into an ocean of #s. Yes, you read that correctly, no grades, #s and other symbols, I could never figure out.nShe was horribly bullied and no teacher EVER intervened. Some kid knocked her book bag down from her desk, emptying all the content, not one teacher or child had the good sense of helping her pick up her stuff while she was crying. ....that is just one incident of hundreds.nOh yes, before I forget ! When your child gets a #, she or he is made to walk the track alone, sweating in the midday heat and is not allowed recess.nnSending her to Beacon cove for the 5th grade was the biggest mistake I ever made. She is going to High school after this summer and after 3 years her grades have improved, but her emotional scars still remain.
