I went here as a child and it was one of the best schools! Everyone back then wanted their children in Callahan and teachers loved it there. My now 22 year old son also went here and loved his time there. I never had any complaints. I now have a 10 year old daughter in the 4th grade here and I am looking to transfer her out. I will never recommend this school to anyone. In the last 3 years all the great teachers we had have either retired or transfered to other schools. My daughter has a hard time and is in the process of getting an iep and they have done nothing to help her. She has been bullied many years and it wasn't until I called Catherine Latham that anything got done. The bullying still continues however for many other children. Just last year a child threatened to stab another child. The principal does nothing. We once had a very active PTO which is no more. He cancelled all activities. We didn't even get a book fair. The teachers all seem miserable the parents are definitely miserable, and my child as well as many of my friends children come home crying daily begging us not to send them to school. Talking to other parents in the school yard one opinion is shared among many... This school is like a military boot camp!
