This sub shop didn’t miss the mark by much, but where it did matters most: the meats!nnI will never understand how ‘bologna’ found it’s way into an Italian sandwich, other than that it’s a city name in Italy, but it doesn’t belong.nnGive me ham, and/or Genoa salami in an Italian- not bologna. Even the hard salami lacked flavor.nnIt’s a real shame, because the rest of the sub- bread, veggies, hot peppers (!) were awesome! Also well packaged!nnService was just ok- on the phone and in person...

Took awhile writing this but its still bugging me , older guy thats been at Lenas Forever picked up phone I asked for 4 Mayflower Wraps like I have done many times before, he acted like he never heard of it before was asking weird questions , picked up order got home and it was 4 Meatball Wraps No Cheese . VERY STRANGE. Maybe he shouldnt be Answering the Phone anymore .

Lena's Sandwich Shop has been a staple here in Cliftondale Square for sometime now. It's our go to place for quality subs. The bread is FRESH and the sandwich sizes are huge. A small sub is like a large at other shops. And their large can feed a small family.nnThey are not open late, 8pm, and are closed on Sunday's but I respect a small business that believes a work life balance.

The large steak and cheese I had was tasty and huge (like 2 foot long.) Drinks were cold and shop was very neat and clean. This family owned gem is great and a local favorite. The employee was friendly and when I asked for a large he asked if I wanted to see how big it was. If your really hungry large is the way to go, or else you might want to order something smaller.
