I work for Alachua County Public Schools and the personalities of the women that work in the front office make a world of difference.nnI helped a mother register her child for school and it was obvious that the Assistant Principle, Mrs. Bing, cared very much about keeping the process pleasant and simple. She created a comfortable ESOL testing environment for the child which we both appreciated because the test can be intimidating (I took it almost 20 years ago). Not everyone considers what it's going to feel like for a child to be asked a bunch of questions in a foreign language when just switching schools is scary enough.nnHonestly, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. School registrations can be complicated and overwhelming when staff are indifferent or impatient, especially for non-English speakers. I'm so glad that wasn't the case. Mrs. Bing had a great attitude from start to finish and all three of us walked out of there smiling.
