I needed both a new heating system and water heater. Cardinal sent separate technicians to assess and confirm before they agreed that I needed to replace both. There was apparently a fee for the technicians but nobody had mentioned that until the second technician, Michael, was ready to leave my home. It was waived. Eric then came out to do a full quote with lots of detail - he showed me exactly how they would be able to fix a few small things along with the install and ensure better heating for my home, which I really appreciated. Cardinal offered several discounts off their standard rates but they were still one of the most expensive quotes of the 4 that I gathered. I genuinely liked the employees from Cardinal and wanted to work with them. I negotiated with Eric to a number I was happy with and the install took place just a couple of days later (a Friday). Tone and Jonathan had quite an eventful day here between my old cellar, a run-in with wildlife, and just plain bad luck but they were professional the entire time - easily earning 5 stars in my opinion. My rating is 4 stars because I had to contact Cardinal the day after my install (Saturday morning) to let them know that the heating system was not working. I was told that someone could be scheduled to come out and take a look in another 2 days (Monday afternoon). I was very clear that Cardinal had just done the install, it was not working, and that waiting another 2 days wasn't going to work for me. I was told there were no appointments available until Monday but that if someone became available they would call me back. I never got a call back from Cardinal's customer support. Luckily, I was able to reach Tone directly and he came out immediately to fix the issue. I would definitely recommend working with Cardinal because the employees who were in my home were fantastic - but I do think they need to figure out their phone support/customer service so that the experience is 5-star worthy.

Home Depot came to install a new washer machine to replace the old one for our rental property this morning, but the shutoff value for the washer machine cracked at CPVC joint and water busted out. I had to shut off the water for the property to avoid further damage. Then I called Cardinal asking for emergency assistance. It was very easy to get an appointment in the afternoon. Brian arrived on time and performed a quick inspection, then explained to me that he can remove the old shut off valves and install new laundry boiler drains, and turn water back on. He also said Cardinal can remove the old washer machine and install the new one. This was a big surprise to me. I have contacted Cardinal over the past 6 years for various service requests, never heard they install appliance in the past. My response to Brian was it will be great if they can do it today to save time for installing the new washer machine. Brian then called his buddy to come over in just 15 minutes to help him removing the old washer machine from the closet upstairs and installing new washer machine. After that, Brian turned the water back on for the property and verified no leak in the property and no issue with new washer machine’s running cycles and draining.nBrian did an excellent job that exceeded our expectation, not only he resolved the water leak and water off issue for our property, he also installed the new washer machine to save our time. Cardinal is the best in Northern Virginia and we always enjoy working with them and we look forward to contact them again for future service needs.

Larry was able to come out on the same day to determine whether or not the problems we’ve been having with our dishwasher were related to the hot water pipe going into the dishwasher. He quickly confirmed the issue was not the hot water. As a double check he went downstairs to take a look at our water heater and noticed that thermal expansion pump needed to be replaced. He was able to take care of it right away! We appreciated his prompt response and how helpful he was! Will continue to use and recommend Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air.

Brian was phenomenal! He was responsive and gave an honest assessment of the condition of the water heater. I was impressed that he went over possible options but no pressure was involved. Went with a total replacement and he finished the job ahead of schedule. Cardinal charges a fair price, but I will definitely call them again for my plumbing needs
