Unassuming but spectacular museum. Worth a visit if you’re in the area for sure.

An excellent summary of a long history of the African Americans, it has information about the times slaves were treated as property, the newspaper and similar ads , the insurance papers of slave owners then, followed by the history of the half free movements, it then moves on to the struggle followed by the freedom and emancipation , there are some striking historic quotes by eminent personalities and a chronology of the movement

Before the African American slavery in DC opened stood this quaint and under visited museum steeped in the rich history of African Americans.
