Great outdoor afternoon activity with the kids. Love the market inside and supporting a small business in our community!

Great stop on the way to from DC/Charlottesville. The petting zoo is on the backside of Yoder's market, and upscale farmers market. They sell bags of animal feed for $3.50 inside which is more than enough for one family to share, or there are dispensers throughout the petting zoo where you can get a small bit of animal feed for a quarter. In February 2021, we saw tons of animals including goats, sheep, ducks, turkeys, pheasants, turkeys, chickens, cows, alpacas, a rabbit, and a one-eyed emu.

Great place for kids during pandemic! I am an adult and I loved it. Good size so you can spend some time there. No fee to enter. Its outside so just park and walk around. You can buy food to give the animals there but I suggest bringing your own dried corn bits as there are many mouths to feed. I even hand fed the peacocks and turkeys only I suggest bigger kids and adults are recommended ages as they pack hard. I think the turkey came close to taking skin with the food! It was a blast and aside from the machines that got my quarters to dump out food it was all free! FYI you can also grab handfuls of grass growing there and feed it to them too. They loved it.

We love Yoder's and their petting zoo! My kids would rather come here than any full sized zoo. They love feeding the animals and playing in the little playground. There are numerous animal feeding dispensers, and at 25 cents a handful, it it an inexpensive way to spend an afternoon!(you can also purchase larger bags of feed inside the store if you're short on quarters). My kids love the goats and pig, but my personal favorites are the alpacas. :)

The kids really loved it. The animals were in good shape and obviously well taken care of. The animals were not aggressive at all and were great with the kids. Feed for the animals and birds was inexpensive and easily bought in the store or from quarter machines next to the animals.
