Older officers are pretty cool. Younger guys need more training. Watched that mada guy ticket the wrong car couple months ago. Needs to pay more attention.

I've been on both sides of this Police department and there are good cops, and cops that aren't so great, but on more than one occasion I have had the same officer stop me while I was walking and give me a ride while he was off duty. I didn't catch his name so I can't credit him, but he drove a black truck. If you see this officer, those rides completely changed my day those days, thank you.

Looking for a former Galax policeman, he'd be about 70 years old now. I just recently moved back to Va and with the move came memories of times past. This policeman and his wife gave a destitute sopping wet (having bathed in the river with my clothes on) young girl a place to stay one night in 1976 right after the Fiddlers Convention. They opened their home up to a complete stranger and fed her, gave her dry clothes and a bed for the night. I remember they had a young child(ren) and were probably in their mid to late twenties. If this sounds familiar or like someone you know/knew please let me know. Thank you to any and all that have ever offered a helping hand to a stranger.

I locked my keys in my running car and the kindest police officer came and unlocked my car. He was so kind!
