Avida Apartments

I would just like to say after all the bumps in the road I have hit this year , and struggles these past few months I am truly at peace. I feel at home. I wanna say thank you to all the office staff for a quick thorough move in with no hassles. Great customer service , very informative. I love my apartment thank you!

My friend and I applied to move here everything was approved. 7 days before move in we noticed that the apartment on the contract had not been the one we applied for we contacted them only to be told that they would fix it. Okay cool. That Saturday before he traveled he calls them to confirm that all is still good only to be informed that our apartment was no longer available and that we will be moved to a different one. This was the second change. Frustrated my friend traveled all the way from Indiana to SLC. On the day of move-in early in the morning he goes to get the keys no one is there no manager no personal no body. Tried calling for hours to no avail. At 6pm the call us asking us if we are still coming here is the twist the new apartment they were going to assign to us was no longer available as well but they have another one. We voiced our disappointment the lady was like she will call her manager and get back to us. To this day no phone call. This people are crooks of the highest order. They will still your deposit and offer you an apartment knowing very well they have nothing available. Apply at your own risk afford at all costs. We had colleagues who wanted to move here as well as our company is implementing their return to office policy we told them not to do it.

We rented a 2 bedroom apartment from January to July, 2020. Avida was very flexible with the contract, since we needed a 6-month and not many places provided that. They also were running a lease signing bonus at that time. The best part was the location; we are literally next to the train station and close to the highway. Getting to the SLC downtown center only took 12 minutes. I don't think you can beat that. The price is quite reasonable and you get amenities like a pool and gym. We ended up buying a house, which is why we moved. However, if we hadn’t done that, we most likely would have stayed longer.

Everything to take, nothing to offer. Inconvenience is vital for Avida Apartment. Trash 🗑

So we moved here in December 2018 and actually had a very favorable experience with the management and the apartments, aside from the lack of parking. In December 2019, we moved to another apartment within the same complex to get an additional room. We were unaware that the there would be a management change less than a month after changing apartments. The new management was extremely unresponsive and unprofessional. We had an apparent leak in our outdoor storage, and after multiple times of sending in repair requests and going in to ask them about it, we finally gave up. They didn’t keep the complex clean like the previous management, and allowed things like a broken railing to stay around for far too long. We had our refrigerator stop working, submitted a maintenance request, and didn’t get anything done on it until 3 days later when the food started going bad and I had to go and chew them out at the front office. We found out they were raising the rent, and finally decided we had enough. We moved out before our lease was up and had to pay additional fees for breaking the lease. Then we got a bill for additional random charges at our new place a month later. I tried going online to pay it, and my login no longer worked. Tried calling in, and they didn’t answer. I tried calling in multiple times over the next weeks, and left messages and NEVER got a response or callback. Finally I had to go in and pay it in person, and they tried to charge me for it being “late”. Unless the new management changes, or someone else takes over, I would not recommend Avida. The apartment are nice, and the area is great, but otherwise would not recommend.
